That may just mean that the Droid 2 Global has reached that phase in its life when the price needs to be discounted a bit to keep the phone interesting to consumers. Or, TmoNews speculates, the price drop may signify that the launch of the rumored Motorola Droid 3 may be imminent.
Verizon is known to drop prices on older devices to allow new handsets to be priced at the ‘standard' $199.99 with new two-year contract. That's even what happened when the Droid 2 Global appeared in the carrier's portfolio. And after leaking so many times during the past few weeks, the Droid 3 surely is quite close to its release.
