The Netherlands is the second country in which this device was announced, after Russia where it's already available. When we last talked about the Galaxy S Plus and the fact that it will be sold in the Netherlands, I told you not to use its price in Russia as an idea of how much it will cost elsewhere – and for good reason. Smartphones are generally a lot more expensive in Russia than in the rest of Europe.
And once again that has been confirmed. The Samsung Galaxy S Plus will retail in the Netherlands for €449, as opposed to the (approximately) €540 it goes for in Russia.
Unfortunately, Samsung decided not to announce when exactly the Galaxy S Plus will become available in the Netherlands – not even a hint other than “soon” – which really isn't saying much. So we'll have to wait and see, and we'll let you know when you can finally buy one.
The Samsung Galaxy S Plus is very similar, in looks but not only, to the Samsung Galaxy S, although some aspects have been improved. For example, the Plus has a 1.4 GHz processor, a 1650 mAh battery, and it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread from day one. And it seems like it's going to be Samsung's upper-midrange offering from now on, at least in Europe.
