A
new Sony Ericsson Android-powered smartphone has leaked ahead of a
possible official unveiling during CES this week. The Sony Ericsson
MT27i has the codename Pepper and looks like it's going to be the
successor to the Xperia Neo V (which, in turn, was the oddly downgraded
successor to the original Xperia Neo). The Pepper keeps the Neo and Neo V's 3.7-inch 854×480 touchscreen, but will have a dual-core 1 GHz processor, and a new design reminiscent of that seen on the Nozomi. The Pepper will also get a 5 MP camera with 720p HD video recording, LED flash, and noise-suppressing mic. It will run Android of course, and surely Sony Ericsson will dip the Pepper in some TimeScape UI overlay. As you can see, the prototype Pepper has a back side in two color tones, though it's unclear if the shipping model will retain that feature or not. If it won't get announced during CES, then the Pepper will almost certainly make an official appearance in Barcelona at MWC in February. |
