LG Viper 4G LTE: price and pre-order details announced by Sprint
Initially unveiled back in January alongside the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Sprint's LG Viper 4G LTE will be on pre-order starting April 12, and should become available "later this month" (we've heard it's going to happen on April 15, but we can't confirm this for now).

The Viper will cost $99.99 on contract, after a $50 mail-in rebate, and customers should be able to find it not only at Sprint, but also at Best Buy and RadioShack.

Sprint says the LG Viper is its "first 4G LTE device with eco-friendly features". The handset's case is "constructed from 50 percent recycled plastics", and its packaging is fully recyclable.

Other features include Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 4 inch WVGA display, NFC, Google Wallet, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Mobile Hotspot, 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of ROM, a 4GB MicroSD card pre-installed, and 50GB of free cloud storage (from Box).

It remains to be seen if the LG Viper will be released by Sprint before the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. If yes, it will become the carrier's very first LTE-capable smartphone.
