Samsung Galaxy S II Hits One Million Mark in South Korea

The Samsung Galaxy S II has already hit the one million mark in sales in South Korea, proving to be a big hit in its home country. The popular smartphone made its South Korean debut on April 29. According to data, wireless carrier SK Telecom has activated more than half a million Samsung Galaxy S II phones, while competitors KT and LG U+ have sold 300,000 and 150,000 units each. The Samsung Galaxy S II has already made its debut in several markets worldwide, but is yet to officially launch in the United States. Stateside fans have many reasons to wait, as the Android Gingerbread smartphone boasts an AMOLED Plus display, an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p recording capabilities, dual-core 1GHz Samsung chip lus 1GB of RAM. An official launch date in the U.S. is still to be determined.
