The
HTC Thunderbolt, the very first 4G LTE handset on Verizon, was launched 10 days ago with Android 2.2 aka Froyo in tow. We have learned that HTC is beginning to get the word out that we should expect to see 2.3 Gingerbread showing up sometime in Q2, which means we'll see the update happen by this summer. This news comes to us thanks to a helpful HTC rep who sent a disgruntled Thunderbolt user an uplifting email to let him know the encouraging news about the update.
Since the HTC EVO 3D and EVO View 4G
gadget are both coming out on Sprint this summer with Gingerbread and HTC Sense UI pre-installed, it comes as no surprise that the same UI will come to the immensely popular Thunderbolt at just around the same time.
