News Update :

Google Nexus Prime with Android Ice Cream Sandwich to be made by Samsung?

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

Last time we reported on Google's alleged first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, we told you that the handset may have a 1280 x 720 pixels display. Now new info on the handset has been uncovered, apparently confirming this resolution.

According to BGR, the upcoming smartphone will be manufactured by Samsung (which is also the maker of the Nexus S). Apparently, its display will be branded "Super AMOLED HD" - the name covering not only the Super AMOLED nature of the screen, but also its HD (1280 x 720) resolution.

Another confirmed thing is the handset's processor: a dual-core TI OMAP 4460.

As for its name, it looks like the next Nexus won't be called Nexus 4G, as previously rumored, but Nexus Prime. Of course, this may change until the handset actually hits the market (sometime in Q4).
