LG is reportedly getting ready to announce the world's first Android smartphone that uses an Intel chip. According to Korea Times, which quotes Intel Korea chief Lee Hee-sung, the smartphone will be unveiled by Intel president Paul Otellini at CES 2012 (10 - 13 January), and should hit the market "in March at the earliest." This is in line with a report on Intel's mobile plans from May. The features and design of the upcoming handset remain a mystery for now, but we should expect the device to use Intel's new Medfield mobile processor, and run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. |
