T-Mobile is said to be introducing a gradual roll out of the Android
2.3.5 Gingerbread update for their Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone,
going by the name software version T989VUVKL1. T-Mobile claims that
those who install the update will benefit from various improvements
“based on customer feedback" – and to put it in a more specific manner,
this update will offer Caller ID enhancements, battery enhancements, and
Wi-Fi calling enhancements among others.
T-Mobile says that this
update is not compulsory, so basically, it you aren't having any issues
or troubles with your Galaxy S II, then you can always put off the
update. Apart from that, this update will be made available over-the-air
(OTA), so you can forget about it being a manual download. It might
take some time over the course of the next few weeks to see this update
appear on your handset, hence being patient is a virtue here. [Support Page]
